Captivate Us

I am in love with this song. Aside from it being a great song, this was the song that stood out to me the most. As I listen to the lyrics, I think about how amazing our God is, and how thankful I am for his unconditional love. I wish I was more captivated by God, and am praying that I will stop giving Him the leftovers of my time, but focusing on Him at multiple times throughout my day, talking to Him often, and living a life that is more of a reflection of Him.

These were the lyrics that especially stood out to me:

"Captivate us, Lord Jesus
Set our eyes on You
Devastate us with Your presence
Falling down
And rushing river, draw us nearer
Holy fountain consume us with You
Captivate us, Lord Jesus, with You

Your voice is powerful
And Your words are radiant bright
In Your breath and shadow
I will come close and abide
You whisper love and life divine
And Your fellowship is free
Draw me closer O my Lord
Draw me closer Lord to Thee"

I want to be captivated by Jesus all the time, not just when I have quiet time before bed, or when I am singing at church, or when I am on an HSM serve project. I want Him to become my main focus and my priority in life. I want to be consumed by God, so that I can bear witness to Him and so He can use me to bring others to Him.

That was very touching. The words are beautiful. And I think it's beautiful that you have such an aspiration.
